Early Works section (South of Olympic Highway to Table Top)

In accordance with the project’s Conditions of Approval an environmental management plan was prepared for the construction of the early works section of the project. Construction of this section, between Bells Rd interchange and Table Top, commenced in April 2007. The Early Works Environmental Management Plan (EWEMP) details the environmental safeguards that will be implemented during construction. The plan also includes the mitigation measures to be implemented to manage the potential environmental impacts that construction works may have on the surrounding environment. In addition to the EWEMP, there is a project Urban Design and Landscape Plan and a Community Involvement Plan. These plans have been incorporated in the Construction Environmental Management Plan and the Urban Desgin and Landscape Plan that covers the whole project.

Copies of the documents are available for viewing at the community display centre at 15335 Hume Highway (on the corner with Knox Road).

Woomargama to Table Top

A Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP) has been prepared for the whole project, between Woomargama and Table Top. This plan has been approved by the Department of Planning and incorporates the Conditions of Approval that apply to the section of the project between Woomargama and Mullengandra and between Mullengandra and Table Top. A number of sub-plans have been prepared in accordance with the condtions, to ensure appropriate environmental management plans of specific aspects of the project. These plans detail the environmental safeguards that will be implemented during construction. The plans also include the mitigation measures to be implemented to manage the potential environmental impacts that construction works may have on the surrounding environment. These include:
